Global Business Organisation (N1546)

15 credits, Level 5

Autumn teaching

You learn to identify different forms of business organisation across a range of national economies.

You also investigate the pressures for change and forces of convergence, which are eroding the differences between national business systems.

You study:

  • corporate governance
  • the role of the nation state in business and financial institutions
  • the historical constitution and recent transformation of advanced economies including the UK, the USA, Japan, France and German
  • the nature of business organisation in China and the other emerging economies.

You look at key empirical elements of a range of national business systems with a comparative/institutionalist theoretical approach.
