Professor Fiona Smith, UKTPO Deputy Director and Professorial Research Fellow at Law School, has been appointed as a member of the Trade and Agriculture Commission (TAC).
TAC is an independent expert committee that scrutinises UK trade agreements once they are signed. Its key role is to prepare a report to go before Parliament to identify whether the free trade agreement’s provisions around trade in agrifood goods comply with the UK’s statutory levels of protection relating to: animal and plant health, animal welfare and environmental protection.
